[Note: These few paragraphs below summarize the story in its entirety, to give you a better gist of what its plot consists of. However, the script we have written only consists of the first four scenes.]
Plot Summary:
Violet (a modern day Viola) is quietly walking home one night from her university when she finds herself cornered by two dangerous men. Utterly helpless and consumed by terror, she fears that all hope is lost. However, at just the right point in time, a handsome stranger rescues her, leaving nothing save an address behind. Violet, intrigued by this mysterious man, soon deciphers that the address he left behind leads to an all-male university full of an assortment of dangerous criminals.
Despite the blatantly obvious risk she is putting herself in, Violet decides to disguise herself as her twin brother Sam and enroll in her savior’s school, East High University, simply just to thank and get to know him. Upon arriving, she finds it difficult to fit in, especially due to the fact that her savior (named Daniel) ignores her for no apparent reason. Frustrated and rather angry, Violet seeks her friend Olivia for help and to gather some information about Daniel. Olivia then decides to venture around East High University during a day she has off, in order to gather information on the matter. However, as soon as she arrives at East High University, almost every student at the school is awed by her beauty and develops a crush on her. This makes it almost impossible for her to get any real words out of them. Quite coincidentally, the only man who doesn’t appear utterly enamored with her is Daniel. This annoys Olivia, as she is accustomed to being adored by everyone. Thus, much to Violet’s dismay, Olivia attempts to force Daniel to fall in love with her. She manages to slightly entice him and lands several dates.
However, after their third date, Daniel later admits to Olivia that he's fallen for Violet. He confesses that he was aware that Olivia attends the same university as her, and he only agreed to date Olivia in order to get close to Violet. At first Olivia is slightly peeved by this, however she soon decides that she is quite happy for Violet.
In a frenzy of excitement, Olivia confesses to Daniel that who he believes to be Sam is actually Violet, and then rushes out, fearing what Daniel’s reaction would be. Daniel is shocked, yet he is also excited by the fact that Violet went to such lengths to be close to him, soon deciding to find her as soon as possible to profess his love for her. However, when he enters Violet’s dorm, he finds her missing. After searching for some time, he soon discovers that she was drugged and taken to his friend Fred’s (Feste’s) dorm to be messed with, as Fred had accidentally found out several days prior that she was a girl, and he wanted some amusement. Daniel, consumed by anger and worry, runs into Fred’s dorm and rescues Violet, only to be significantly injured in the process.
Violet terrified for Daniel, rushes him to the hospital, promising she will not leave his side until he wakens. She waits twelve whole days, and on the twelfth day, his coma lifts and he awakens. With great relief they make up, and begin to talk nonchalantly about their lives and their recent experiences. However, that evening, Violet decides that by now everyone must have discovered that she is, in fact, a girl and decides to drive back to her original university to avoid being caught.
When Daniel discovers this, he runs out of the hospital, still wearing his hospital pajamas, and rushes to Violet’s university dorms to get her back. Later that night, Violet and Daniel reunite, officially deciding to begin dating and, as every happy romantic tale goes, they live happily ever after.

Play Script
Scene 1:
Violet, a young college student, is finishing her mid-term finals late one night in the tranquil library of Stanford university. Tired and worn, she decides that it is time to depart back home. During the trek back to her dorm, she is disturbed by an eerie feeling, as if she is being followed. She turns around, yet nothing appears to be there except for dim streetlights and the quiet humming of crickets. However, as she continues on, the strange rustling noises persist. Consumed by fear, Violet attempts to run, however she is stopped by two mysterious men with malicious intent.
Violet: Who's there? What do you want?
Stranger 1: [steps out of the dark] From the tip of her pouty lips, to her most beautiful long brown hair. Ah! And her eyes... Oh me, oh my, we wish to light up your night. What else would you think we want to do with you? [chuckles]
Violet: W-what? I swear, come near me and I'll call the cops faster than you can-
Stranger 2: Oh. She's going to call the cops. We’re so scared!
Stranger 1: I swear, I’m starting to tremble in fear.
Violet: You should be scared![starts dialing]
Stranger 1: [Grabs ahold of the phone and throws the phone and down, crushing it with his foot] Oopsie! Shouldn't have done that little girl!
Violet: W-what? N-no! Don’t hurt me!
Stranger 2: Hmph. We won’t hurt you...much. James, what do you say?
Stranger 1: Heh, I say let's have some fun. [smirks] We could duck her around a little bit.
[Mysterious man shows up and punches both strangers]
Stranger 1: Who did that? Come out whoever you are!
Mysterious man: [Beats the strangers] Scram!
[Strangers flee]
Violet: Thank you so, so much! Who are you, strange hero?
Mysterious man: [Turns around and smiles then leaves]
Violet: Wait! Dude, you dropped something!
[Violet picks up the little note]
Violet: An address have I found within my palms? Could this be the pathway to my hero?
Scene 2:
It is late at night, Violet is in her dorm with her roommate Olivia. As she sits down and prepares to sleep, she begins to contemplate the man who saved her.
Violet: [sitting down]
Oh, who, who was he?
What a marvelous man, indeed.
This cannot just be an accident. No... no, its destiny for sure.
This was destined to happen. He was meant to drop that note.
He saved my life. I can’t just let him get away...
What he did was so bold and courageous
And he was very handsome, on top of that!
I wish I could learn more about him first, although.
He could be my one true love as far as I know!
I have to see him again! And I think I know just the way...
Scene 3:
The next day during lunch, Viola decides to visit her brother, unsure of what to do or say. She then confesses to him her life-altering decision.
Violet: Sam, um...may I tell you something?
Sam: Sure thing, but can you hurry, please? It’s finals week, and as you can see, I am consumed by copious amounts of free time.
Violet: Actually, you really are, slacker. Anyway, I need you to help me train to become a boy.
Sam: WHAT? Viola, what are you talking about? Has studying gotten to your brain so much now that you’ve decided to switch genders? How much sleep have you been getting, have you been watching too much Gossip Gir-
Violet: Sam, listen! [begins to ramble in excessive excitement] Yesterday night, I ran into a gang and they were about to harass me...BUT THEN a mysterious man came in and saved me! He dropped this note [shows note] as he was leaving, Later that night I went online just to find out that it was an address to East High University!
Sam: What? Violet, that school is for special kids who do drugs and require unique attention. There is no way I am letting you go to this school. And, dressed like me of all people? Are you utterly delusional? Viola, we both go to a marvelous school that can lead us to a great future with thousands of options and... yet you choose to do this?
Violet: [sigh]
Look Sam,
I am aware
that you care,
for me more than anyone else on this planet.
And I adore you greatly for that.
Yet, for once in my life is it possible for you to let me make my own decision?
For God’s sake I'm not a child anymore!
Let me learn the ways of the world in all of it’s glory and gore,
let me make my own mistakes and let me grow from them.
Hell, let me breathe in all the good and the bad, and learn who
I truly am from it!
This might be the most idiotic thing I’ve done in my entire life,
and for all you know I’ll regret it more than anything.
But is it not best I learn now and pursue my undying passions,
then live a life of lackluster regret?
I beg of you, allow me some freedom.
It would mean the entire universe to me!
Sam: This is by far the greatest thing I will achieve in life… [sigh] But, despite everything, you’ve always been there to provide me support. Okay. How can I help you?
Violet: [smiles mischievously] Oh brother, may I borrow your dress wear?
[scene fades out]
Scene 4:
Now fully dressed in men's clothing, Violet (Samuel), is about to attend East high university.
Violet: Sam, I'm terrified...what, what if they don’t like me? What if my chest is too obvious, what- what if my voice doesn’t sound manly enough?
Sam: Hmph, I’ve told you Violet, this is not the best idea. Why don’t you back out now, and we can go home and get you some ice cream. Okay?
Violet: But Sam! I want...I want to do this! I just- I just feel that it’s right... in my heart!
Sam: Well then. Golly, you must have been studying your Freudian philosophy recently, because your thoughts are just oozing with complexity! Very rational indeed, gold star!
Violet: Sam! I gave you my reasoning before and you agreed to this! You know what- who gives a damn if I’m scared. I’m not backing out now! Whether you like it or not, I'm going to this university, and I will be a boy! Even if it's the last thing I do.
Sam: Tch, whatever, bro. You’ll be caught before dawn tomorrow, I bet you.
Violet: Hmph. Doubt it!
Sam: [grunts] Ugh, you’re so mature. Just, just promise me you'll come back in one piece 12 days from now...okay?
Violet: [In a deep, boyish tone] You got it, brah. [winks]
[Leaves car]
